FEODOSIY HUMENIUK

Feodosiy Humeniuk had his start in painting as a rather ambitious artist: he had his message and he knew how to reinterpret the centuries-old cultural legacy which hadn't been much spoken about. He was born in Ukraine. In 1950, his family moves to Dnipropetrovsk where Feodosiy goes to the art school and, later on, the college of art and design. After the graduation, Feodosiy goes to study to Ilya Repin Leningrad Higher College of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. Humeniuk's pictures are known in Europe, the United States, and Canada. He has the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine. Since 1993, Feodosiy Humeniuk has headed the Historical painting Workshop at the Ukrainian Art Academy.
